Image Improved conversion of configuration changes
Configuration Conversion
If improvements or changes to the structure of the configuration files are implemented, a conversion of your existing configuration is necessary.
This conversion now runs automatically when you first use the SmartMBDTools ribbon or use the Options / Configuration commands. Until this conversion was not performed successfully, all other SmartMBDTfools commands are unavailable.
What is the benefit of this enhancement?
  1. Previously the conversion was running during Creo startup, what could lead to conflicts with other Tollkit applications. The new point of conversion is independent from Creo startup and runs when SmartMBDTools is used the first time.
  2. When a conversion is triggered, a backup of the existing configuration is created automatically in a backup directory. You can use the new config option smbdt_config_backup_dir to specify a folder for the backup. Default is <config_dir>\backups
The backup will not be deleted automatically and can be used to downgrade the configuration to a previous version of the software.
