To Edit an Electrode Assembly
  1. Click Image Assembly in assembly mode of current electrode assembly. The Assembly Setup dialog box opens for modification.
  2. Select additional Reference Models or remove models from list.
  3. Edit values for:
    1. Prefix
    2. Postfix
    3. Assembly Name
    4. Reference Model Name
  4. Click OK to confirm changes.
  5. User can decide whether to rename all existing electrodes or to change Prefix/Postfix only for new electrodes.
  6. A warning appears if a naming conflict is found. Assembly Setup dialog box is displayed again after confirmation to allow resolving the issue.
  7. A summary appears informing about all actions to be processed. Confirm to proceed or cancel to return to user interface. Renaming electrode assembly and/or reference part changes external references of all electrodes. This means electrode models refer to renamed models afterwards.
  8. Rename is processed if no problems found. Associated models — like drawings and manufacturing files — are also considered. Necessary parameter values are updated.
 Note
To create a copy of a complete electrode assembly to a new name, it’s recommended to create a backup or copy the whole directory. Set new directory as active working directory, clear Creo session, reload assembly and open Assembly Setup dialog box in new directory to proceed with renaming.
 Note
If electrode models should not be modified and reused from original assembly, replace electrodes manually after renaming in session and working directory/workspace. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Clear Creo session
  2. Load original assembly
This loads electrodes in original state.
  3. Load renamed assembly
This loads renamed assembly and uses original electrodes already in session. Electrodes in renamed assembly now refer to original assembly again.
  4. Create a backup of renamed assembly
This makes sure to update files on disk.
Limitations
  • SMARTElectrode only processes the active assembly and loads associated data. It’s not parsing the whole directory content.
  • Suppressed electrodes are skipped during rename.
  • Reused electrodes from different assemblies are skipped during rename.
  • Electrodes with custom names will be renamed. A new name that follows the naming formats will be assigned.
