Exporting the colored model
SMARTColor allows to export the model including the color information to the following file types:
  • Creo View (.pvz)
  • STEP (.stp)
  • JT (.jt) — Additonal Creo license for the JT inteface is mandatory

Exporting to Creo View
  1. Select a Combined State of your active model that shall appear as Default view in Creo View. Usually the Default All state is preferred.
  2. Select Export Image from the SMARTColor ribbon.
  3. Chose the destination folder and save the .pvz file

Exporting to STEP
  1. Select the Combined State of your active model that shall be exported to STEP.
     Note
Only one Combined State will be exported
  2. Select Export Image from the SMARTColor ribbon.
  3. Chose the destination folder and save the STEP file
  4. You can specify the export settings, like the application protocol AP242 for instance, by providing a STEP export profile via the config.pro. The certain option name is “export_profiles_step”.
  5. You may open your exported model directly back to Creo Parametric to verify the export
     Note
STEP does not know anything about Flat-to-Screen notes. They will appear on a default plane within the exported model. Transparency is not recognized by STEP at all and in some cases the colors are applied only to one side of a surface.

Exporting to JT
  1. Select a Combined State of your active model that shall appear as default view in Creo View. Usually the Default All state is preferred.
  2. Select Export Image from the SMARTColor ribbon.
  3. Chose the destination folder and save the JT file.
