The context structure is a nested tree of contexts. Contexts provide bundles of objects of various types like notes, drawing
formats, symbols and others. The active context defines which objects are available for selection and creation within the
model or drawing. This mechanism allows to prepare specific sets of objects that suite well for different scenarios (or contexts).
For instance, such could be different working divisions, countries and locations, manufacturing processes and so on.
You can browse through the structure using the Global Context tree:
The active context is highlighted and bold. This indicates that its contents will be displayed and available to be chosen.
If a specific context shall be set as permanent standard for a model or drawing, this can be achieved by setting it as the
Home Context
. The usage of this function requires some administrative preparation of the context definitions. If it was set up correctly,
it is possible to pre-define the Home Context, which will be active automatically. Of course, the initial setting can be overwritten
by selecting another context and pressing the Home Filter button. The active Home Context is marked by a yellow star icon.
Note: If you cannot see this button, then it was deactivated by the administrator.
