Background
During placement on a 2D drawing, the elements of the
Stack-Notes functionality are vertically aligned by preceding spaces for each textline. Mono-spaced fonts, whose characters have all
the same width, will align correctly by default. Non-mono-spaced fonts won't and require additional information in the form
of expressing the width of each relevant character as a factor to the width of the space character.
How it works
A new ribbon command
Font alignment was added within the overflow of the Administration group of the
SMARTAnnotate ribbon. It allows to auto-create the necessary data to properly align
Stack-Notes vertically if a non-mono-spaced font is used.
- This automatically generated information can be found for each font within the configuration file <config dir\translations\san_font_width_mapping.xml>. You can adjust the settings manually, if required.
- The new command is active in drawing mode only.
- Nevertheless, all definitions from mapping-file san_font_width_mapping.xml are used to align Stack-Notes in 2D and 3D mode
- The relevant font is taken from the Creo drawing detail option default_annotation_font
- The alignment results depend on the value of Creo detail option text_height if the value of the Creo detail option text_width_factor does not equal 1.0
What is the benefit of this enhancement?
This enhancement greatly improves the alignment results for non-mono spaced fonts during Stack-Notes creation. Providing an automatic mechanism to generate the mapping file supports the administer during the setup.
