Ability to specify Units for Std-Annotation placement
A new setting for Std-Annotation Set definitions allows to specify the units in which the entered coordinates will be interpreted. These coordinates are used for defining the positions of the symbols on the drawing.
How it works
  • Choose any value from the new Units drop-down menu.
    Image
  • The value ‘Drawing Units’ is the default value. No conversion will take place and the software will work as in previous versions.
  • For any other value a unit conversion will take place during placement if necessary
    • The units defined by the Creo detail option drawing_units are compared with your entered value.
    • If those units differ, the placement coordinates will be automatically converted into the units of the drawing.
  • Examples:
    • Units set to ‘Drawing Units’ and drawing_units dtl option is ‘mm’: No conversion is done. Coordinates are directly used.
    • Units set to ‘inch’ and drawing_units dtl option is ‘inch’: Units are the same, no conversion required. Coordinates are directly used.
    • Units set to ‘mm’ and drawing_units dtl option is ‘inch’: Units differ. Coordinates are converted from ‘mm’ into ‘inch’.
What is the benefit of this enhancement?
Std-Annotations definitions can now be used in setups, where MM and INCH units are used in parallel.
